The John Willmott Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) were delighted with the response from parents, carers and pupils to the latest PTFA race night.
The event was held in the school hall on Friday 25th April 2008. The first race started at 7pm and the evening drew to a close at approximately 10pm.
This was a family event and as such children were most welcome, as indeed were other family members and friends. Sandwiches and nibbles were included in the price of tickets.
As usual, bets came flying in as the "punters" and "owners" got caught up in the excitement of the evening. Master of ceremonies Paul Rodbourn kept things moving at a lively pace with a non-stop barrage of witty banter and compelling commentary.
Musical highlights of the evening
Previous events have benefited from a variety of high quality musical interludes from pupils of the school, and this event proved no exception.
Musical highlights were provided by Alex Gibbs, Nathan Farrell, Ellis Edwards Matthew Hutchins and Lianne Morgan-Ewing. The ever-popular "Flood' also performed, proving that they are getting better than ever.
