John Willmott School ex pupils shine in 50th anniversary quiz!
'Bad Lads' manage higher than expected place in PTFA quiz in Sutton Coldfield.
The recent quiz spectacular was attended by huge numbers of past and current pupils, teachers and helpers, many of whom had the opportunity to discuss their (in some cases) dim and distant past.
Typical of those who attended were the 'Bad Lads' - captained by the legendary Richard ('Dickie') Rodney, who was a pupil at John Willmott School from 1968 - 1973.
He contacted the school after the event to pass on his thanks to all concerned.

"Thank you so much on behalf of 'my' team for an excellent night last Friday. The quiz went really well and was judged right IMHO!
"We were delighted to come fourth overall - which was, we observed, the highest that any of us had been 'placed' during our time at the school!
"I hadn't seen two of the team for some 35 years and we all got on so well it made for an excellent night of nostalgia, reminiscences...and beer!
"As I was staying over-night with one of them we were able to continue the even on Saturday, with another member of the team, plus several wives/partners.
"The pen and the mug purchased after a little encouragement from Gill's stall are serving me well!
"Looking forward to returning to the school for further event(s), which have already led to some very strong, renewed friendships.
"Please pass on my/our thanks to Mr Nimmo and the PTA."
