An introduction to John Willmott School PTFA

I am delighted and proud to contribute to the web site of the John Willmott Parent, Teacher and Friends Association.

Ken Nimmo John Willmott School PTFAHaving been previously Head in a school with a thriving PTFA I was disappointed, on taking up post at Willmott, to find there was no PTFA at the school. A thriving PTFA can bring so much to a school and is a wonderful means of getting more parents involved in the life of the school.

By the end of my first year one of my aims was to ensure a Parents’ Association had been set up.
I am therefore so pleased that this aim has been realized. We have a very dynamic and supportive set of parents and school staff.

As you can see elsewhere in this letter, officers have been appointed and the group has loads of new ideas about social events, family learning ideas and ultimately working together for the best of the school and its pupils.

Our first two events, a Race Night and Quiz and Curry Evening, have not only been lots of fun but incredibly well attended and have generated a lot of income.

I look forward to the PTFA going from strength to strength and hope that even more parents will either join our meetings or support our events.
